The approach

The Human–Horse Relationship Approach

At the core of all our programs lies a conscious and embodied approach to the human–horse relationship.

Through observation of herd dynamics, non-verbal communication and relational presence, participants develop emotional regulation, social awareness and authentic leadership capacities.

The horse becomes a mirror, a teacher and a partner in learning.

Who we are

The Essence of Alma Gitana

Mission

At Alma Gitana we create experiences with horses that support human development, awareness, the quality of our relationships and personal growth.

Through interaction with horses we offer a safe space where each person can observe their own patterns, try out new ways of acting and develop resources they can carry into their personal, family or professional life.

Our commitment is to create authentic experiences, respecting the wellbeing of the horses, the rhythm of each participant and the singularity of every process.

Vision

We believe that contact with horses and with nature can contribute to a more conscious, cooperative and wholehearted society.

We want Alma Gitana to become a reference in equine-assisted human development — recognised for the quality of its work, for its ethics and for a deep respect for people, animals and nature.

Values

  • Respect

We respect the individuality of every person and every horse.

  • Integrity

We seek to act with coherence, authenticity and responsibility in every relationship.

  • Presence

We value full attention to the present moment as the ground for learning and transformation.

  • Experience

We believe the most meaningful learning happens when it is lived.

  • Cooperation

We take inspiration from horses to build relationships based on trust, collaboration and mutual respect.

  • Nature

We recognise nature as a privileged context for wellbeing, learning and human development.

What sets us apart

At Alma Gitana the horses are neither working instruments nor performers of trained exercises. They are active partners in the experience.

The facilitator creates the conditions for safety, observes the interaction and accompanies each participant in reflecting on what was lived.

Every experience is unique, because it is born of the relationship between the person, the horse and the context of that moment.

A multidisciplinary team

At Alma Gitana we believe the best experiences come from collaboration between different fields of knowledge.

We work with a multidisciplinary team that brings together professionals with complementary skills, according to the goals of each program.

This diversity allows us to create more complete experiences, integrating different perspectives and ensuring an ethical, safe and people-centred approach that respects the rhythm and singularity of every process.
